Ilsa
Back in September 2021 we were contacted by a lovely woman who was facing the end stages her journey with heart failure. She said that the last task she had in her life was to make sure that her precious 30 year old horse Ilsa be safe and well cared for after her death.
We agree that the prospects for an elderly horse when an owner dies are slim. Harriet was smart. She began the search early and we made a plan together for Ilsa’s future, honoring her wishes and including her in meeting her future foster home and the person who would eventually become Ilsa’s adoptive mom. We took Ilsa in while Harriet still had the energy to visit. Her foster mom gave regular updates. Ilsa shined and Harriet declined. Feb 12th 2022 at noon Harriet left this world. The next day Ilsa landed in her new forever home.
